Just getting over a cold over here. So bummed about the weekend ending and bummed my cold seems like its never ending. Is it just me or do colds suck?

Drawing 21

Ahh.. its almost the weekend!! I am waiting for some good news.. well hopefully good news. I can't wait to share it with you but as of right now that'll have to wait for another day or two. Ugh... I hate waiting, don't you? I suppose I am a little impatient but still waiting sucks! I'm constantly checking my phone or my emails... that sounds a little lame doesn't it? Oh well I'll put it out there, I don't have anything better to do! Ha just kidding (kind of) but I so need to hear back soon before I drive myself crazy! 

At least my drawing distracts me for a bit. So here's my drawing of the day.

30 Days 30 Drawings: Number 20

I am proud to say I have stuck with this 30 Days 30 Drawings project and only have ten more drawings to go. I actually committed to something! Yay me! I've been trying to think of what kind of project to do next when this one is finished. I got a few ideas but nothing legit yet. Man it feels good to know your accomplishing something, even something as little as this. I suggest you try it out, really it'll make you feel better about yourself. Well here's drawing number 20!

Have you ever seen that movie we bought a zoo? I suggest you see it if you haven't already. Thats one of the quotes from the movie. It has Matt Damon in it and its about a father and his two kids trying to move on since the mother passed and long story short they buy a zoo. There's obviously more to it then that but its an awesome movie, or at least I think so. That might be because its totally my inspiration to buy a zoo someday! Wouldn't that be awesome! Ha my boyfriend would never be up for it but its one of those impossible and extreme way out of the box dreams of mine. (I have a lot of those actually..)

Anyway go see the movie its pretty good and plus Matt Damon is in it.. is it just me or is he kind of a hottie?

Catch up time

Okay so I missed yesterday's sketch but I have a perfect explanation.. I went up north with my boyfriend's family. I did do the drawing though I just didn't have a computer to put it up on the blog. So here's two drawings today and also I finally got around to coloring in my favorite drawing from the project, the peacock.

Flounder!

Is it just me or is The Little Mermaid the best Disney movie ever?? I watched it last night with my cousin's daughter and I forgot how much I love that movie! Flounder is a major cutie so of course it only makes sense to draw him.

Halloween

Getting in the mood of the Halloween season more and more everyday I decided to draw a scarecrow today!  I love Halloween and honestly haven't decorated much at all. But that all changed this morning when I noticed that the neighbors decided to go all out with their decorations this year.. and well I might of gotten a little jealous so I decided to up our game a little bit! Yes I'm one of those neighbors.. you know the one that always has to go above and beyond to "beat" the others. I'm sorry but I just can't stand the fact that when somebody drives by they look directly at the other houses and not mine, I mean I'm here too! So of course I had no choice but decorate a little more! Are you with me!? 

Anyway besides the drawing I also made a decoration for the front door. Its out of an old picture frame I found and some yarn, ribbon and beads. Simple and cute, I hope you like it!

mmm... tea!

I'm obsessed with tea and everything that involves it. Such as the cute tea cups and amazing vintage tea kettles and pitchers. I love it! Oh and the deliciousness is pretty frikkin' awesome too!

I am really enjoying painting lately so decided to share my latest with you!

Fading Mason Jars

Alright so here's the craft I've been meaning to share with you.

To make these you will need the following supplies:

1. a jar
2. paint: 1 color of your choice and 1 white (I used acrylic paint but it might be better using paint that will stay on the glass forever)
3. paintbrushes
4. skinny tape (I used bingo tape thanks to my boyfriends mom who saved a bunch for me)
5. and scissors 

1: The first part is time consuming but its totally worth it! I promise! Your going to have to cut LOTS and LOTS of little pieces of tape between 1-2 inches long. (if your jar is big you'll have to cut longer pieces)

2. Start by putting the tape on the jar forming a zig-zag pattern one piece at a time. I found it easier to stack one on top of the other so at the end you can peel it all off at one time. On this jar I only did two rows, but on my others I did three rows of the pattern spaced out from each other giving me room to paint. 

(Personally I think it looks better with three rows because you can see the color fading a lot easier)

At the bottom I wrapped one piece of tape around the entire jar. You could very easily, instead of a straight line, zig-zag some more but I preferred a nice clean line to finish it off.

3. Alright so here come's the explaining since I didn't take any pictures for this part. (Sorry in advance)

I started out with pouring quite a lot of white paint in my little paint cup then I mixed a few drops of blue (or whatever color of your choice) in the white paint. Mix that up and you should end up with a nice light color.

I painted the first space the light shade then when I was finished I added more drops of blue into the paint. Mix it up until you get a shade darker from your first section.

Paint the next section with that shade, touch it up if you need to.

When finished mix more blue into the paint for another shade darker and paint the following section.

 It should look like this when your finished.

4. When your finished painting let the jar sit over night to dry. When its completely dry you can now peel off all the tape. Its easier to remove the tape one row at a time very slowly.

And this is what your end result should look like! 

I made both a blue and purple jar. I use one for all my pens and pencils and the other I'll be saving for a birthday gift. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Toadette!

Alright so I love Mario Bros. video games. Doesn't matter which one I love it! My favorite character is Toadette. Before she came along her male partner Toad was my favorite. Its unfortunate she's not one of the main characters.. just saying.

She's so freaking adorable! I love her therefore I drew her!

30 Days 30 Drawings

Here is my drawing number 9 of my 30 drawings project. Simple but cute building, don't ya think?

Its Saturday and chilly out over here. I'm kind of enjoying it though. I get to wear my boots and my cozy sweaters.. so actually I'm really enjoying it! Ha! Unlike most people I do like the cooler weather. The way I see it I rather be all bundled up trying to keep warm than practically finding it hard to stay cool in hot weather...am I right?

Painting

So I didn't have a great past two days so I painted a bit today hoping that would cheer me up.

cartoon bunny..

So my mission today was to draw something cartoon like... well lets just say drawing cartoons are not really my thing. Well unless you consider cartoons to look like they're on drugs, if that's the case I might have the best cartoon rabbit in history! 

So yeah my drawings were of rabbits.. my first one was supposed to be the only one but since he looked so crazy I figured I should add a little drawing of a cute rabbit to make up for the crazy one.

Please tell me its not just me who thinks the one on top is crazy looking?

Peacock

I didn't have a very good start to my day and honestly wasn't sure if I'd be up to drawing anything but did anyway. I decided to draw a peacock! I like peacocks only because I love all the colors on them... which reminds me I think I'll have to color this sketch in. Peacocks are too pretty to leave them all plain in a drawing. Don't ya agree?

30 Days 30 Drawings: Day 6

Is it just me or are you loving this fall weather!? My favorite season is fall so I spend most of my time outside. I enjoy everything about this season and am surprisingly looking forward to winter also. Well.. besides the fact that I need to start saving for Christmas gifts and all... alright I'm ahead of myself and probably bumming you all out with a reminder that winter is right around the corner. So to change the subject quickly before you all start hating me here is my 6th drawing of my project.

I always try to keep these quotes in mind when I'm discovering all these amazing artist who I truly admire their work. Its always in the back of my mind that dang I need to practice more so I can come up with these amazing ideas. I think its normal for an artist to never fully appreciate their work without thinking in their minds that oh well maybe I could have done that better or this could be right there. I suppose it might be normal.. or is it just me? Either way I am enjoying putting my sketches and paintings up for all of you to see. I hope that in the future I'll be able to look back at how far I've come and fully appreciate myself and my artwork. 

My 30 Days 30 Drawings project has really given me a lot to think about and I've been enjoying it so much. I'm trying to think of what kind of project to do next.. maybe paintings or should it be crafts. Hmm.. I don't know but either way I'm looking forward to it.
